A NEW improved shave, the Gillette Fusion Phenom, has just been launched, with A1 Team New Zealand’s only race-winning driver Jonny Reid as its ambassador.
Gillette Fusion Phenom and Gillette Fusion Power Phenom feature five-blade Shaving Surface technology on the front of the shaving cartridge. The blades are spaced closer together to reduce pressure for a more comfortable shave than its predecessor, the Mach 3.
It also has a Precision Trimmer blade, a single blade built into the back of the cartridge, allowing men to easily trim sideburns, shave under the nose and shape facial hair.
Gillette’s PowerGlide blade edge technology on fusion Power delivers a smooth blade edge coating, which translates into incredible glide and comfort.
Soothing micropulses
The company reports that Fusion Power Phenom delivers soothing micropulses that help reduce friction and increase razor glide. It says when the power turns on, the razor moves so effortlessly it’s barely detectable.
The Fusion Power Phenom’s handle features an onboard microchip which optimises the razor’s performance.
To help users know when it’s time to change the blades, an Enhanced Indicator Lubrastrip fades from blue to white “signalling when shaving conditions are no longer optimal”.
The new razor features a bold metallic blue handle with silver and copper accents and the power version features a silver satin chrome handle with dark blue and white crush accents.
The bright orange on/off button is flush with the razor handle to help avoid accidental activation or deactivation. And both razors have Elastomer around the handles to provide a more secure grip and enhance control.
The man who led the extensive research and development of Gillette Fusion is Kevin Powell, director of Gillette’s Technical Centre, whose previous experience included work as a British Defence contractor developing missile guidance systems and engineering that was applied to jet engines for Rolls-Royce.
The RRP of Gillette Fusion Phenom razor and one cartridge is $15.99 and of the Gillette Fusion Power Phenom razor with one cartridge and a Duracell AAA battery is $17.99
