SIMPLOT New Zealand’s John West brand has signed a new partnership with the New Zealand Olympic Team to Vancouver, the New Zealand Olympic Committee and a broadcast partnership with SKY Network Television for the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.
Starting on 12 February, the world’s best winter athletes gathered in Vancouver for a show of skill,speed, dedication and excitement at the XXI Winter Olympic Games.
New Zealand has fielded a team of around 17 outstanding young athletes. Amongst them is 20 –yearold free-skier Michelle (Michey) Greig. From Queenstown, Michey likens her sport to motocross on skis and the speed, jumps and crashes prove it.
Skeleton’s Tionette Stoddard is also in the mix. With her face just centimetres from the ice. Stoddard certainly demonstrates she’s one of New Zealand’s toughest athletes as she races down an icy track at more than 100kph.
The New Zealand Olympic Committee has welcomed the new partnership with John West.
”New Zealand’s team is made up of young and exciting athletes for the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games,” said New Zealand Olympic Committee secretary general Barry Maister.

The New Zealand Team to Vancouver was named last month. Before that our athletes were competing in Europe and North America as they vied for qualification and selection.
